Shaped not only by love and liberation– LGBTQIA+ minds, lives, and worldviews are intrinsically influenced by biological brain chemistry, society, trauma, survival, resilience, healing, and “no shade, no tea– I’m just letting you know“… some wildly outdated medical models. Queer focused psychiatry isn’t only about being born this way and then surviving in a heteronormative world. Christian Lopez at Umbrella Psychiatry and My Psychiatrist unpacks with us in this educative and entertaining lecture that queer psychiatry is about every individual being wired uniquely and that we are all able to thrive in a world full of color.
